Industry Talks: Saif - Barber Graduate
What inspired you to become a Barber?
“I was after a change in career. I was previously an electrician, but when I had my son, the travel involved was getting too much. I wanted a stable career with good hours. I started watching barbering videos and was hooked!”
What made you choose Servilles Academy?
“I did look at a few other training providers, but Servilles just felt right to me straight away. I looked at the website and it seemed really professional, then I had a phone interview with Serena, the recruitment manager, who was so friendly.”
What have you loved most about your course so far?
The barbering tutor, James. He is a great teacher. He always has time for his students and will happily go out of his way to teach you anything extra you want to learn. The learning environment is great - there’s no such thing as a silly question, and everyone is really nice and supportive.
What advice do you have for anyone thinking of starting a course at Servilles Academy?
“Just do it. You won’t look back!”
What’s next for you Saif?
“I’m so lucky to have secured a job at Barber Shop Co in Ellerslie! I worked there for my work experience and have been asked to stay on, which is amazing!”
